TIME-OUTS
the Fanatic loves em...but everyone thinks they know the best time to call a time out. The Fanatic says you are the only one who knows when to call a time-out because it's personal.
CONTROL
One of the best uses of a time-out is to control the game....you can control the tempo, you can control the other teams momentum. Slow the game down by calling a time out.
PRESSURE
Lets say a team has you down 4-1 and you come all the way cak to 4-4...if you call a time-out....the other teams has nothing but negative thoughts fro the next 30 seconds. Just a few minutes ago, they were in control. When you call the 4-4 time-out, you re-gain the control, and they are forced to the defensive. Another situation where people like to call a T.O. is at 4-4 when the ball is on the 3bar. This again establishes your sontrol of the situation, and puts extra pressure on the goalie. Becareful, if your insecure about shooting at 4-4 after a time out, why not pass the shot over to your partner.
STRATEGY
The switch. The modern foos team of the 90's seems to be able to switch forward and goalie at any time. This can be seen with Adkisson and Mares...they can use time-outs to switch shooter or goalie. This is another great use for a time out if you are a balanced team.
The Fanatic believes only YOU know the right time to call a time out. It has to do with the type of person you are, the pressure you like to create or the pressure you feel. Faster players generally like fewer time-outs, well slow controlling player like Perrie, wish they had 5 time-outs. You might even want to call the infamous Johnny Horton 1-0 time-out if you got the cohonas.
